Lectio Divina (“divine or sacred reading”) is the ancient practice of scriptural reading, meditation and prayer intended to promote communion with God and increase our understanding of His living word.
Although there is an element of study in “Lectio Divina,” it is not the same as Bible study. Rather, through the prayerful reading of scripture, silence and discussion, we seek to come into the presence of God, be attentive to what the word of God means in our lives and to what action or change He may be calling us.
It helps us to humbly let go of our own agenda and open ourselves to what God wants to say to us.
