In close collaboration with the Archdiocese of Toronto, Salt + Light Media hosted the premiere of its new short documentary FIAT: The Making of a Cardinal on Oct. 30 at the Centre for the Arts, St. Michael’s College School. The film offers an inspiring and intimate portrayal of His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo and his elevation to the College of Cardinals, while illuminating the deeper spiritual meaning of the Cardinal’s vocation – one of service, fidelity, and total openness to God’s will. Through the lens of our Blessed Mother’s own “fiat,” the documentary invites the faithful to consider how each of us is called to say “yes” to the Father in our daily lives.

Guests from the Archdiocese of Toronto and friends of Salt + Light Media attended the event, joining in a spirit of joy and gratitude. Following the screening, Cardinal Leo participated in a live conversation with Fr. Haig Chahinian, Chief Executive Officer of Salt + Light Media. Their dialogue reflected on the central themes of the film, including surrender, courage, and hope, and offered a profound witness to the power of faith when it is lived with humility and trust in divine providence.

It was an evening of reflection, prayer, and communion, a moment of shared faith that celebrated both the life of the Church and the grace that flows from saying “yes” to God. The film will soon publicly premiere on the Salt + Light Media TV and online network.
